Comments: Easy but with a great effect if you crochet it with a variegated yarn

Size : 8 inches

Material : Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn ( we call it "Poor Cotton", but a yarn like "Sugar&Cream should be good), color variegated, Hook no.4 (US=G/6)you may want to give a look to my virtual store if you need materials.

Stitches : ch, sl st, sc, hdc, blsc = back loop sc

Difficulty:

Start with 6 ch, join

1. 12 sc in loop; join with sl st to first st.

2. *2 hdc in next dc*; Repeat * to * 12 times, join with sl st to first st. => 24 st

3. *blsc in next hdc*; Repeat * to * 24 times, join with sl st to first st. => 24 st

4. *2 hdc in next sc, hdc in next sc*; Repeat * to * 12 times, join with sl st to first st. => 36 st

5. *blsc in next hdc*; Repeat * to * 36 times, join with sl st to first st. => 36 st

6.*2 hdc in next sc, (hdc in next sc)3 times*; Repeat * to * 9 times, join with sl st to first st. => 42 st

7.*blsc in next hdc*; Repeat * to * 42 times, join with sl st to first st. => 42 st

8. * sc in next sc, 2 ch, sk a sc*; Repeat * to * 21 times, join with sl st to first st.

9. *(dc, 2 ch, dc) in next sp*; Repeat * to * 21 times, join with sl st to first st.

10. * sc in next dc, 2 sc in next sp, sc in next dc*; Repeat * to * 21 times, join with sl st to first st.

11. * 2 hdc in next sc*; Repeat * to * all around . , join with sl st to first st. => 90 hdc

12. blsc in ea hdc

13. *sc in next sp, 3 ch, sk 2 sc; Repeat * to * 30 times, join with sl st to first st.

14. leaving loops on front, work all around *sc on next sc, 2 hdc in skipped sc of row 13*

15. sc in next sc, 8 ch, sk 2 sc, sl st in next sc, (sc in next sc) all around, 10 sc in lp, sl st in first sc. Cut thread, weave in ends.

N.B.

• Substitute ever (also if not explicitly said) first st in a row as follows:
  • first sc with 1 ch, sc;
  • first hdc with 2 ch;
  • first dc with 3 ch;
  • first tr with 4 ch...and so on;
• When you read "sl st to <location>", where the location is not immediately contiguous to last st, this means of course "an appropriate number of sl sts for reaching <location>".
• Also if I do not specify it, if you lasted prev row on a st (say st1), while you must start next row in another st (say st2), make an appropriate number of sl sts to reach st2.
